Vincent Van Gogh Landscape Collage
Description:
For this activity we created a Vincent van Gogh scene using tissue paper, construction paper, oil pastels, and a type of acrylic polymer. I used orange, yellow, red, and dark red to represent a warm sunset looking sky. For my front scene I chose to do mountains and trees. I drew lines in the sky to represent a breeze and lines on my mountains to represent the texture of them and snow. I also added some trees because I feel like many mountains have trees growing on the sides of them and to add more diversity to my piece.
Extension Activity:
An extension activity I would do would be relating the project to weather and the seasons. This shows students how different weather patterns and seasons affect the appearance of landscapes. Students could create multiple versions of their scene, depicting how the same location might look in different seasons—spring with blooming flowers, summer with lush greenery, fall with colorful leaves, and winter with snow.
